Our favorite Thai restaurant downtown was closed so we made our first trip to Chipotle with Sophia. Between the small beans, rice, shredded chicken, and a spilt cup of water, Sophia made a huge mess of the floor. Before we had a chance to clean it up, a friendly member of the staff brought out a mop and insisted that she clean it up. She kept saying that our mess was “nothing compared to the PSU football players” that were in right before us. Greg and I held our heads in shame as we exited the restaurant. We knew that we could not possibly show our faces in that same Chipotle again.
Well, yesterday we went to a different Chipotle. Upon arrival Greg said to Sophia, “our goal is to make less of a mess than last time we were at Chipotle.” We laughed about it, got our food and sat down. After we finished our food, I went to the bathroom. Greg stayed with Sophia at the table. Suddenly something didn’t smell right. He looked around at Sophia’s back – (wide eyed) AH! A poop waterfall was cascading down the back of her high chair to a dinner-plate sized poop puddle that was already formed below. Being as nonchalant as possible, he grabbed a handful of napkins and pretended to pick up the fruit below while wiping up the poop. I returned and Greg quickly explained what was going on. Somehow, people eating their burritos on either side of us didn’t seem to notice that our daughter was taking a deuce on the floor! Greg went to get a new outfit from the car for Sophia as I took her into the bathroom. After bringing us the outfit, Greg went to clean up a bit more. Well, once again an efficient employee had already wiped our table and whisked the highchair away – which had more or less been de-pooped. A nice couple was already occupying our area, just feet away from where the “incident” had occurred. We decided to abort all further clean up of the area and make a B line for the door.
As we were walking out with poop-bag in hand, Sophia in new outfit, Greg proclaimed, “mission failed!”
You guys are going to have to start a Brave Greg & Kristina blog where you dare to take Soph out into public again...
