Safety Leg

Before Sophia crawled, she would get from point A to point B by a strange maneuver: she would simply go from sitting position to “crawling position” and back again, over and over until she was across the room.  I say “crawling position” because it was never a real full-on crawl position.  She would keep one of her legs out in front of her so that if she would accidently become sprawled out on the floor (aka. tummy time, which is to be avoided at all cost!) she would have the proper leverage to come back up to sitting.  My dad deemed this move Sophia’s “safety leg”.
