To preface this story, I will say that I have made the mistake of letting Sophia use my cell phone. However, once she successfully downloaded two apps, unbeknownst to me, in a single cell phone entertainment session, I put the kibosh on it. Granted, both apps were free, but I'm not taking any more chances. Ironically, one of said apps has actually proved to be quite helpful in my life. It’s called “Shush!” and it silences your phone for a determined amount of time (i.e. naptime) and then restores your ringer automatically after the time is up. I am really happy to have it!
Anyway, now we will fast forward to Sunday night.
Cousin Rachel and Uncle Daniel came over for a visit with Sophia and dinner. It was a lovely time. After dessert, Uncle Daniel and Sophia shot a mini photo session together.
Post photo shoot, Daniel borrowed a computer. To entertain Sophia, he made that tragic mistake of letting her play with his cell phone. Greg did warn him of past unwanted app downloads, but Dan said he wasn’t worried, and Sophia didn’t seem to be making too much trouble.
Upon arriving back at his house for the evening Dan noticed a new email from Amazon thanking him for a recent purchase. He sent me the following text:
“No Joke, Soph downloaded a Katy Perry song [on my phone]. Am the proud owner of ‘Who Am I Living For’ explicit version.”
Reader beware: if you want to let Sophia hold your phone, you better have a good password protection on your purchase settings. At least, this time it was only $0.99 mistake.
And who knows, maybe Uncle Daniel too (like me with my Shush! app), will one day be very happy that Sophia downloaded this song on his phone. Well, I can only assume so. : )
Don't tell anyone but it's my new favorite song . . .
