On a weekend in Missoula

Sophia, talking about our (then upcoming) trip to Missoula:

Mizz-oo-wa
There will be an enormous castle there with millions of kids.
Everyone will be driving fancy cars and wearing fancy clothes.
Mizz-oo-wa

No matter where she got these ideas about Missoula, we thought for sure that these fantasies of hers would sadly not be realized.  Thankfully, we were wrong!

As it turns out, on the evening we arrived, we went to the pep rally at Missoula University because they were having a homecoming pep rally complete with fireworks.  Low and behold.... Sophia's castle:

We saw the "millions of kids" and the "fancy cars" and the "fancy clothes" the next morning at the Homecoming Parade!

With Sophia's childhood dreams still in tact post-parade, we went to the Homecoming Football game to watch The Grizz play Portland State!  It was a beautiful day at the stadium!

After a long day of marching bands in the parade and sitting next to the Missoula University Marching Band at the football game, Sophia decided on a new instrument that she wants to play.....the drums!  Hurray!  (Hopefully she will not get too enthusiastic about that one.)

We also made a stop at Missoula's Children's Museum which was SO much fun.  Our favorite was a dig pit where we uncovered dinosaur fossils.  Here is another one of Miss Butterfly's personas: Dr. Sophia the Paleontologist!
