Portland's Benson Bubbler
The Benson Bubbler is featured in one of Sophia's favorite books that was given to her from Dado, "Larry Gets Lost in Portland." Whenever we are in downtown, we make sure to spot some of the highlights from the book -- "a fish stuck right through a wall", "a great big elephant with her kid up on top", "a store that was filled with every kind of book", etc. So, when we spotted a bubblers in Portland, she loved taking a drink, and of course playing in these fountains from 1912-1917 (although I just read online that the single bowl variations are from later).
