Big Sister Present

Long before Dominic was born, we told Sophia about her Big Sister Present -- a swing set for our yard.  Last weekend it arrived in 2 boxes from Costco, and Greg and I successfully put this 4-hour swing set together in just over 2.5!  We were very proud of ourselves!

And (of course!) Sophia LOVES her swing set!  Thank you to Nama, Pop, Nonna, and Dado for contributing!!!!

[This "big sister present" was Greg's idea.  Shortly after we told Sophia that she was going to be a big sister, we let her watch the new episodes of "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" where Daniel became a big brother.  Unfortunately, the show introduced Sophia to the not-so-glamourous parts of being the oldest sibling; she became very anxious about the whole thing (to say it nicely).  For example, she would tell me in a whiny voice, "Mama, you're not paying attention to me!" even though we had just returned from Storytime at the library and lunch out to eat where I read her books the entire time.  We decided the narrative in her mind needed to change to how awesome it is to be a big sister and how many more privileges she would have.  This also included the privilege of a very special present for the big sister: her very own swing set.]
