A Butterfly Day in Glacier Park

Nama always tells Sophia, "When you go out into nature, you never know what you will see!"

This time was no exception: after a nice hike, we stopped at McDonald Creek for a picnic lunch where it was alive with Western Tiger Swallowtail butterflies!  It was truly spectacular.  Greg and I always hope that we will remember the look of pure, unfiltered joy on Sophia's face.

She even drew a picture to commemorate the event:

(Pictured is Sophia -- wearing her butterfly coat -- enjoying a fritillary, Monarch, Western Tiger Swallowtail, and Blue Copper butterflies.  We saw all of these species that day, just not the Monarch -- that was imaginary.)
