For Sophia’s first birthday we celebrated with my family at Aunt Sherry & Uncle Joe’s house. It was a pool party on August 14th. The high for the day was only 70 degrees, but darn it, it was a pool party so we were getting in the pool!
We decided that it was time for cake (and quick!) when Sophia got so tired that she started to fall asleep IN the pool – a feat that I did not think was ever possible. So we sang happy birthday and gave her funfetti cupcake with cream cheese frosting which she promptly DESTROYED, but only after licking off all of the frosting!
But she did catch her second wind when it meant opening presents.
