Sophia
has recently been really excited to say “peace” to me or Greg while shaking our
hands. It took me a few days, but I
finally did figure out what she was saying/doing! (It’s difficult outside of the context of
church!)
Last
Sunday was the first time she had the chance to try this new skill at
Mass. We were in the cry room. Nama & Grandpa were there, as well as a
mom and her two sons – one about 3 years old, the other maybe 7. Once the Kiss of Peace came along, Sophia
gave peace to everyone in the room. But
it she was so excited that of course she wanted to do it all again. The little boys caught on that it was fun for
her, so they indulged her by taking turns giving her “peace” over and over
and over again. After this had continued for about 10 minutes the 7 year old leaned over to me and
said: “I think I know what your daughter is going to be when she grows up – a
priest.”
