Glamping weekend

We told Sophia we were camping, but we were definitely "glamping" (glamour camping).

We are PROUD to announce that Sophia hiked about 2 miles on a lovely trail that ended at McDonald Lake.  This is the farthest she has ever hiked!!!

Luckily, there were countless caterpillars along the whole trail, as well as some Admiral Butterflies and Western Tiger Swallowtails.  And we also spotted this bear at the trailhead.  : )

After the hike we got settled at our cabin and walked to Mass at Apgar.  This is post Mass, pre-naked-child-playing-in-water.

Since our cabin had no place for a campfire -- only a bbq -- and since the campfire was "very important" to Sophia, we went on a mission to find a place for our campfire.  What we found is one of our new favorite spots on the lake.

["It's so peace here."]

And Sophia and Greg even got to fish a bit!

"Can we stay here forever?"  That's what Sophia said as we sat next to our morning bbq fire, looking out at McDonald Creek.

From the post-breakfast fly fishing...

...to the late morning boat ride

...fun was had by all!  (And the sleep deprivation was totally worth it!)
