Jim & Ginny visiting + random summer vacation days for Greg + hit on RCI + rental van + 5.5 hours driving = AN AMAZING trip to Banff National Park!
We started at the Banff Gondola and Sulphur Mountain summit the first evening we arrived.
(He is focused on the ground squirrels.)
Then we crossed the Continental Divide on Sunshine Mountain by day (a gondola helped us up part of the way),
(No one had any fun, as you can tell.)
and we went for a waterfall hike that night!
(This is "hot chocolate" - melted chocolate bar in a cup!)
then we enjoyed a leisurely walk along the Bow River,
and then a nice hike in Grotto Canyon where we spotted the ancient pictographs (between 500-1300 years old)!
Greg and I even got in a bike riding and sushi date!
On the way home we stopped at the beautiful Lake Louise (along with LOTS of other tourists!).
We even got a bonus day at Flathead Lake together! We crossed the bay in kayaks where we enjoyed enjoyed nachos and drinks!
We LOVE our family + summer in the Flathead!!!!
