August Family Reunions

Sophia travels in style, what can I say?

She wants to be a pilot when she grows up (for this week)!  We got to spent time in the cock-pit talking to the pilot of our plane to Bend.

We had some big events to celebrate in Sunriver; namely, Nama's retirement (CONGRATULATIONS Nama!)

and Pop's birthday!

And of course we enjoyed biking, swimming, and playing at Nama & Pop's house.

(I was happy Greg caught this moment on video.)

Then it was time for a little road trip to McKenzie Bridge to meet up with my mom's side of the family, the Heine clan.  A VERY thoughtful lady at The Other Store in Sunriver gave Sophia this big pink sucker, which she excitedly enjoyed in the car.  It was a little big, however, and she realized quickly that it was also very sticky.  Eventually she was so fed up with the stickiness and rode like this for miles before we would stop at a gas station to clean her up.  : )

At McKenzie Bridge we stayed in a lovely little cabin right on the river -- it's one of my favorite places on Earth.  Sophia also said it was the "fanciest hotel we've ever stayed at"!  (True.)

One highlight was our rafting trip down the river.  The weather was cloudy and cold, but we had an absolute blast!  (Thank God for wetsuits!)  We floated right by the lodge where Nonna & Sophia heard us yelling and snapped a few photos:

We enjoyed MANY delicious meals....

preparing them was almost as fun as eating them!

We played all sorts of games;

we hiked;

and we fished;

and we spent lots of time sitting by the iconic fireplace.

Sophia had a really fun time playing with Andrew!

(Here's what they were up to...)

: )

We wish you could have been here, Grandma & Papa!

Can't wait to do it again!  We love you Heine clan!!!!
